Venus and M45, April 10, 2007. The large open cluster M45 is also known as The Pleiades, or The Seven Sisters. It lies near the ecliptic, so from time to time it is "visited" by the Moon and the other planets as they travel along their orbits. On this night Venus was just a few degrees away.
