The Rosette Nebula, March 14, 2009. The Rosette Nebula is an immense cloud of hydrogen gas, located at least 3,000 light years away, and measuring more than 50 light years across. The bright star cluster in the middle of the wreath-like structure is called NGC 2244. The nebula is located in the constellation Monoceros, next to the constellation Orion.
