Lightning, Capella and Perseus, September 12, 2010. As a distant thunderstorm swept across Georgian Bay, the skies above my home were still mostly clear. For a brief time I tried to capture both the intense power, and quiet tranquility of the scene unfolding above. The storm eventually got closer, and I made a retreat back home.
The lightning strike on the lower left is somewhere in the middle of Georgian Bay. The bright star on the right is Capella. Above and to the right of Capella is the constellation Perseus. The scattering of stars in the middle are part of the constellation Camelopardalis.
