Geminid, December 14, 2006. The annual Geminid meteor shower usually peaks on December 13th or 14th. Geminids are often bright, and can leave long glowing trails as they streak across the sky. This image was taken shortly after midnight, and shows a Geminid as it passes by the winter constellation Orion.
