Comet Hale-Bopp, March 11, 1997. This beautiful comet cruised across our skies in the spring of '97. I observed it and photographed it every chance I could get. This image was taken from the Big Bay wharf, near the beginning of the comet's six week appearance in our northern skies. In this photo the comet is on the border between the constellations Lacerta and Andromeda.
