northern lights

Aurora, October 8, 2013 no.2. While helping a friend load some things into his car on this evening I noticed a nebulous glow in the northern sky. I set up my camera to photograph some potential northern lights when not a minute later the glow evolved into this bright, rippling aurora. The sky maintained this intense show for about twenty minutes, and then settled back down again to a pale glow. This photograph was taken at 8:44 p.m.

A photograph taken at 8:47 p.m. is available here.
