Aurora, November 20, 2003. This was a particularly bright aurora that lasted for several hours. With a digital camera I can check the exposure after each photograph, but this night I was using a film camera and had to guess the exposure. Usually a 30 second exposure on 400 ISO film works well, but on this night several of the images were actually overexposed because of the intensity of the display.
