Aurora, August 18, 2003. I took this panorama photograph from the field in front of our home. The size of the Big Dipper gives a sense of scale. The trees on the horizon are about a kilometre away. This photograph was taken shortly after midnight on the 18th, and about 22 hours later, also August 18, there was another aurora which I photographed on the shore of Georgian Bay. This panorama was featured on the SpaceWeather and SkyNews websites, as well as several publications.
